What Is the Pasban Remittance Reward Scheme?

A plain-language introduction: who it is for, who pays for it, how families qualify and why the person sending money abroad cannot win.

In one sentence: the Pasban Remittance Reward Scheme gives people in Pakistan who regularly receive money from abroad through banks a free chance to win cash prizes every quarter.

Who it is for

It is for the recipient — the mother in Faisalabad, the student in Peshawar or the household in Mirpur receiving support from a relative abroad. The relative abroad does not win anything; the official terms are explicit that senders are not participants.

Who pays for the prizes

Participating banks fund the prizes from their own resources. The Pakistan Banks’ Association administers the scheme, the State Bank of Pakistan is its patron, and 1LINK, a licensed payment system operator, records remittances and runs the draws.

How a family qualifies

An account needs to receive a remittance of at least USD 100 (or equivalent) in every month of a quarter, credited directly — not collected in cash — into a personal account at a participating bank. Then each qualifying remittance earns tokens: one per USD 100, rounded to the nearest USD 100. See eligibility.

What families get

A chance at one of 2,521 prizes each quarter, from PKR 1 million up to PKR 100 million. Prizes are paid in rupees into the winning account after the bank verifies everything. See prizes.

What it is not

  • Not a lottery — nothing is bought.
  • Not a deduction — remittances always arrive in full.
  • Not something you register for — anyone selling “registration” is not genuine.
