About the scheme
What is the Pasban Remittance Reward Scheme?
It is an industry-wide rewards initiative of Pakistan’s banks, launched by the Pakistan Banks’ Association (PBA) and participating banks under the patronage of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). People in Pakistan who receive qualifying home remittances from abroad into their bank account or wallet get digital draw tokens, and quarterly draws award cash prizes. See our complete guide.
Who launched the Pasban Remittance Reward Scheme?
SBP Governor Jameel Ahmad inaugurated the scheme on 25 September 2026. It was launched under the auspices of the PBA and is funded entirely by participating banks, not by the government. 1LINK operates the technology that records remittances, issues tokens and runs the draws. A steering committee of the participating banks, PBA, 1LINK and SBP governs it.
When does the scheme start?
The scheme started on 1 October 2026 and continues until further announcement. Remittances received before 1 October 2026 do not count.
Is this a lottery?
No. The official terms describe it as a free, bank-funded promotional reward. Nobody pays to take part and entries cannot be bought.
Eligibility
Who is eligible?
An individual in Pakistan who receives a home remittance of at least USD 100 (or equivalent) in each of the three months of a quarter, credited directly into their personal account or wallet at a participating bank. Staff, officers and directors of participating banks, PBA, 1LINK and SBP cannot win. Full eligibility rules.
How much remittance is required?
At least USD 100 or its equivalent in each month of the quarter. The official wording refers to a remittance transaction of USD 100 or more, so a single transfer of at least USD 100 each month is the safest reading. There is no upper limit. Non-dollar remittances are converted to USD at the SBP daily rate on the processing date.
Do I need to register?
No. Participation is automatic. Tokens are created from the remittance data your bank already reports. There is no form, no application and no message to send. Be wary of anyone offering “Pasban registration”.
Is participation free?
Yes. The official terms say you will never be asked to pay a fee, make a deposit or keep a minimum balance to take part or to receive a prize.
Do I need to buy a ticket?
No. There are no tickets to buy. The word “ticket” in scheme material simply means a digital token created automatically by the system.
Can I receive remittance in cash and qualify?
No. Money paid out in cash over the counter is excluded, even if you hold an account. The remittance must be credited directly into a bank account or wallet.
Are Roshan Digital Account remittances eligible?
No. Credits to a Roshan Digital Account or any foreign-currency account are excluded. Only Pakistani-rupee accounts and wallets qualify.
Can company accounts participate?
No. Only personal accounts held by individuals (single or joint) qualify. Accounts of companies, firms, trusts and associations are excluded.
Do wallets count, such as mobile banking wallets?
Yes, a branchless-banking wallet or account counts if it is held with a participating institution. Easypaisa Digital Bank, for example, is on the official participating list.
What if I have accounts at more than one bank?
Each account is treated separately. Tokens belong to the account that received the remittance and the three-month condition is checked per account, so splitting remittances across accounts can mean none of them qualifies.
Tokens and draws
How are entries/tokens generated?
Each qualifying remittance earns one token per USD 100, rounded to the nearest USD 100: USD 100–149 earns 1, USD 150–249 earns 2, USD 250–349 earns 3, and so on. USD 1,000 earns 10. Below USD 100 earns nothing. How tokens work.
When is the first draw?
15 January 2027, for qualifying remittances received from 1 October to 31 December 2026. Later draws are ordinarily held on the 15th of the month after each quarter, but we list dates only once officially confirmed. Draw dates.
Do unused tokens carry over to the next quarter?
No. Tokens are valid only for the draw of the quarter in which the remittance was received. Each quarter starts fresh.
Who runs the draw and is it fair?
The draw is run on 1LINK’s automated system using algorithm-based random selection without manual intervention. According to 1LINK, the systems are independently audited, and every winner is verified before payment.
Prizes and winners
What is the first prize?
PKR 100 million (10 crore) in each quarterly draw. The first prize is drawn from all tokens regardless of which country the remittance came from.
How many winners are there?
2,521 per quarter: 1 first prize (PKR 100M), 20 second prizes (PKR 25M), 100 third prizes (PKR 10M) and 2,400 fourth prizes (PKR 1M) — PKR 4 billion per quarter and PKR 16 billion a year. Prize structure.
Who receives the prize?
The beneficiary — the person in Pakistan whose eligible account received the remittance. The prize is credited to that same account in rupees.
Does the sender abroad win the prize?
No. The official terms say the sender is not a participant and has no right to any token or prize, even if related to the beneficiary or paying the transfer cost.
Can I win more than once?
An account can win only one prize per draw. If it is selected more than once, the higher prize stands. A winning account stays eligible for later draws.
How will winners be notified?
Your own bank will contact you through the contact details held on your account, shortly after the draw, to tell you about your provisional selection and any documents it needs. Results are also announced publicly on the draw day without names or account details. Do not rely on any call or message that does not come from your bank’s official channels.
How are prizes paid?
In Pakistani rupees, credited to the winning account after your bank completes verification (identity, account status and the genuineness of the remittance). Your bank may ask for documents such as a CNIC or NICOP copy. No cars or goods are offered — anyone offering them in the scheme’s name is not authorised.
Are prizes subject to tax?
Yes. Prize amounts are gross. Tax is deducted at source by the paying bank under the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 at the rate applicable to you, and the bank gives you a tax deduction certificate.
What happens if I don’t respond to my bank?
The bank makes further attempts to reach you. If verification still cannot be completed within the period set in the terms (the currently published draft indicates 90 days after the draw), the prize is forfeited and returned to the prize pool for a later draw. Keep your phone number and address up to date with your bank.
Safety, banks and official information
How can I verify a winner?
Contact your bank through the helpline printed on your card, statement or the bank’s official website, and check the results published by 1LINK, PBA and participating banks. Public results do not include names or account numbers, so a message naming you as a winner should be checked with your bank.
What should I do if someone asks me for money to release a prize?
Do not pay and do not share any PIN, OTP, password or card details. The official terms state that anyone asking you to pay to enter, claim or release a prize is not acting for the scheme. Report it to your bank immediately. Scam awareness guide.
What banks participate?
1LINK lists 26 participating banks, including HBL, UBL, MCB, NBP, Allied Bank, Meezan Bank, Bank Alfalah and Easypaisa Digital Bank. See the full list and always confirm with the official list, as banks can join or leave.
Can I opt out?
Yes. You can tell your bank in writing or through its designated channel. Your account is then excluded from token generation from the next quarter. Opting out does not affect your remittances.
Where can I find official terms?
The official Terms & Conditions are published by 1LINK, and scheme information is also published by the PBA and participating banks. Links are on our official sources page.
